When working on a server, the DEA number printed on a prescription is the DEA number of the patient's default provider listed on the General tab in the Patient Information Center. If the prescribing doctor is not the patient's default provider, the DEA number is incorrect. When you select a prescribing doctor from the drop down menu in a new prescription, it populates the prescribing doctor's name, address and DEA. But when you click "Print Prescription," it replaces the prescribing doctor's DEA with the default provider's DEA. This error happens without fail when using the program on a server. It happens intermittently when working on a local console. Thank you for your help in fixing this error. It is critical to have the correct DEA on a prescription for controlled substances.
